Dr. Nicholas Goetz

Dr. Nicholas Goetz is a Florida native with deep roots in the Sunshine State. Growing up in Sarasota, he developed a unique blend of interests that would shape his future career. With a passion for both the medical field and the hands-on work he experienced helping his parents in the construction industry, Dr. Goetz found his calling in dentistry – a perfect fusion of science and craftsmanship.

As he progressed in his studies, Dr. Goetz discovered his true passion in the specialty of Prosthodontics, which allowed him to pursue advanced dental reconstruction techniques. He completed his undergraduate degree, dental school education, master’s degree, and dental specialty residency at the University of Florida (UF) in Gainesville, establishing a strong foundation in dental excellence.

Furthering his expertise, Dr. Goetz completed a Maxillofacial Prosthodontics Fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). This specialized training equipped him with advanced skills in complex oral rehabilitations. Before establishing his private practice, Dr. Goetz served as a civilian maxillofacial prosthodontist for the US Army and the VA Medical Hospital, gaining invaluable experience in treating a diverse range of patients with complex dental needs.

When not in the office, Dr. Goetz cherishes time with his family. He and his wife, Dr. Holly Trinh, are proud parents to three energetic boys – Westin, Austin, and Dustin. The Goetz family embraces an active lifestyle, often found exploring local parks or enjoying the beautiful South Florida beaches.

Dr. Kathryn Gavalas Kaleel, DMD

Dr. Kathryn (Katie) Gavalas is a general dentist located in Delray Beach. Dentistry has long been a part of her life, as her dad is a retired dentist of Boynton Beach and had a private practice for over 30 years off Boynton Beach Blvd and Congress. Growing up, his office shaped her vision of dentistry: an office that produces high quality work with a team and patients that feel like family. Her goal is to bring that with her through her career. Sharing Dr. Gavalas’ passion of wellness through dentistry while practicing with a philosophy modeled after the L.D. Pankey Institute is something she strives to do every day.

Growing up in Ocean Ridge, Dr. Gavalas attended St. Mark Elementary/Middle school and Pope John Paul II High school. She then headed off to Florida’s capital to attend Florida State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. (Go Noles!) From Tallahassee, she moved to Louisville, KY to attend the University of Louisville School of Dentistry as a member of the Class of 2017.

Dr. Gavalas’ post-graduate journey began with a two-year general practice residency at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC, where she served as Chief Resident her second year. In 2019, she moved to Nashville, TN for a one-year oral surgery internship at the Oral Surgical Institute. Lastly, she completed the implant fellowship at the University of Florida Center of Implant Dentistry; Dr. Gavalas was awarded a dual fellowship in implant and digital dentistry.

After spending a year in Gainesville, Dr. Gavalas moved to NYC to be with her now husband, Nic, for one year. She worked as a dentist in Murry Hill and Rockefeller Plaza where she said hello to Hoda, Savannah, and Al every morning.

Nic and Dr. Katie then relocated to Tampa to be back in Florida in 2022. During this time, she worked in a private practice in South Tampa and a practice St. Pete. Though they enjoyed their time in Tampa, in August 2024, with a little one on the way, they decided to move back to South Florida to be closer to family.

Dr. Gavalas attends the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, which has shaped how she views the meaning of comprehensive dentistry. It has provided her with advanced knowledge and clinical experience that is unmeasurable. The Pankey Institute is named after L. D. Pankey, a reputable dentist in Coral Gables who was always a student of dentistry and lecturing to those who wanted to invest in their education. He placed an emphasis on relationships with patients and provided dentists with a philosophy for how to happily live a balanced life. Dr. Gavalas thinks of L. D. Pankey through her work and continues to be a student of her profession at the Pankey Institute.

Dr. Gavalas earned her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry [FAGD] in 2022.
She is a member of the Florida Dental Association, Atlantic Coast District Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the International Team for Implantology.

Nic and Dr. Katie tied the knot in November 2022. In September 2023, they got their first dog, an Irish Goldendoodle named Brees [after legendary Saints quarterback Drew Brees]. In August 2024, they welcomed their first son, Leo. With the support of her loving and humorous husband Nic, the pure joy from Leo, and the kisses from Brees, Dr. Gavalas is excited to meet you and share her clinical expertise with patients in her community. Her overall passion is wellness and all of its components. She loves playing tennis and is an avid runner, especially the half marathon distance. Her goal is to complete the all of the Abbott Majors Marathons [one down, five to go]. She enjoys cheering on the Noles and the Saints. Even dentists can have a sweet tooth, and Dr. Gavalas does enjoy the art of baking.

Dr. Katie, along with Nic, Leo, and Brees, look forward to the opportunity to welcome you to the practice, earn your trust, and make an ordinary dental experience extraordinary.
