Smile Makeover Delray Beach FAQ
On your first visit to the office, a cosmetic dentist or prosthodontist will perform a detailed exam.. This will allow him to evaluate your teeth and gums.
After the exam you will get your treatment plan depending on your oral needs and wants.
Your treatment plan will vary depending on the issues you need to fix: You may simply need to get your teeth whitened or bonded. Other times you might need to replace a some teeth with veneers or porcelain crowns.
Chances are that yes, at least in part. Dental insurance coverage varies according to the type of plan you have and the type of treatments you need. In general, preventative procedures such as fillings are covered by most plans. The coverage for crowns varies from one dental plan to another. Some plans offer up to 50% coverage for more complex treatments such as crowns or implants.
However, if your dental makeover is purely cosmetic (for instance, procedures involving veneers or teeth whitening), chances are that you will not get any coverage as dental insurances do not cover cosmetic dentistry procedures.
We are happy to do a complimentary insurance benefits check before proceeding with your treatment. Please keep in mind that we are an out-of-network/fee-for-service office, which means you will only get coverage if you have a PPO plan. You will need to pay for the treatments at the time of service, but you will get reimbursed directly after we submit the claims for you.
The length and time of your smile makeover will depend a lot on the procedure you need to get done. A simple filling or composite bonding procedure may take just one office visit while a more complex treatment, such as a fixed implant reconstruction will surely take multiple visits as these treatments require some healing periods. The same happens with teeth whitening treatments. If you get the in-office teeth whitening you may probably achieve your ideal shade (tooth color) in one or two visits, whereas if you decide to go for the take-home bleaching treatment you will need at least 7 days to see the results.
After the scheduled treatments have been completed you will be able to bite and chew normally while enjoying your dream smile. However, take into account that once you have a restoration in your mouth you need to be careful, especially when you bite hard foods. You also need to avoid habits like opening tops of packets with your teeth or doing anything that may cause harm or break your restoration. Remember you also need to brush and floss daily and visit your dentist at LEAST twice a year to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
In general, cosmetic treatments will not cause pain. If treatments are simple, you may feel some discomfort or sensitivity but no real pain will be involved. For more complex treatments such as implants or veneers crowns, Dr. Goetz will use local anesthesia (and sometimes medication) to make sure you feel no pain during the procedure. Our office also offers relaxation techniques, soothing music and essential oils. This helps create a relaxing atmosphere and make your stress levels go down.
Smile Makeover cost varies depending on the procedure and the complexity of the case. Sometimes with some bonding and teeth whitening, you can have a Hollywood smile for less than a $1000. This is provided that your gums and teeth are in decent shape. Otherwise, a full mouth rehabilitation can cost thousands of dollars, and if implants are involved (and other specialists, such an oral maxillofacial), your treatment can creep up to tens of thousands. In other words, your dream smile not only depends on how you want it to look or how many porcelain veneers you want, but also the shape and overall health of your mouth.
