BONE GRAFT IN DELRAY BEACH
Bone graft is performed when loss or deterioration around the jaw bone occurs. A patient can lose bone due to causes such as missing teeth, gum disease, trauma or infection.
Patients who need to replace missing teeth with implants and dental crowns, may first require a dental bone graft . This bone graft procedure will reproduce and restore bone in order for the implant to anchor successfully to the patient’s jaw.
There are several bone grafting techniques that successfully restore the lost bone and allow the growth of a healthy jawbone to restore missing or decay teeth.
As a highly skilled prosthodontist, Dr. Goetz will perform the safest and most successful bone grafting treatments (in case you need) before placing a dental implant, or due to facial or mouth traumas or defects.

Bone Graft: Procedure & Diagnosis
BONE GRAFT PROCEDURE
STEP 1
The first step is to make a comprehensive consultation with Dr. Goetz. This initial visit, which includes oral cancer screening, x-rays and a general evaluation of your mouth will allow the doctor to diagnose what’s going in your mouth.
If you need a dental implant because you need to restore a tooth, the doctor need s to evaluate if the jaw bone is strong enough to support the dental implant or screw that will support your new dental crown. At this stage, the doctor will be able to tell you if you need (or not) a bone grafting procedure
STEP 2
In case you need to grow bone before your implant treatment you do not need to worry since bone grafting is a very simple surgical procedure. Your mouth will be numbed with anesthesia to avoid pain or discomfort.

Generally, the doctor makes an incision in the jaw to insert bone graft materials that will gradually heal, grow and replace missing tissues.
STEP 4
