Prosthodontist Delray Beach: Meet Dr. Nicholas Goetz
Many patients find Dr. Nicholas Goetz after standard dental treatments have failed to deliver the results they need. Dr. Goetz specializes in the cases other dentists prefer not to handle. His reputation for solving complex prosthodontic challenges has made him a trusted referral destination throughout South Florida, where patients discover what’s possible with the right approach and advanced training.
Dr. Goetz brings the advanced training of one of only 300 maxillofacial prosthodontists in America to every case he treats. At Ocean Breeze Implant & Esthetic Dentistry, he approaches each situation with a commitment to finding the best possible outcome, not the easiest one. His patients consistently report that their final results exceeded their expectations, often dramatically improving their quality of life in ways they hadn’t anticipated.
Growing up in Sarasota, Florida, Dr. Goetz discovered his passion for combining hands-on craftsmanship with medical science while helping his parents with construction work. This unique background taught him that true quality requires both precision and artistry, values that now define every treatment he delivers.
His educational journey reflects his commitment to mastering the most complex aspects of dental care. Dr. Goetz completed his comprehensive dental education at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he earned his undergraduate degree, dental doctorate, master’s degree, and completed his dental residency. The rigorous curriculum at UF provided the foundation for his advanced techniques, but his drive for perfection demanded more specialized training.
Recognizing that extraordinary results require extraordinary preparation, Dr. Goetz pursued a Maxillofacial Prosthodontics Fellowship at UCLA. This elite program focuses on treating patients who have experienced head and neck cancer, trauma, or other conditions requiring comprehensive oral reconstruction. The fellowship prepared him to tackle cases that would challenge even the most experienced dental professionals.
Following his fellowship, Dr. Goetz served as a civilian maxillofacial prosthodontist with the US Army and VA Medical Hospital. This experience exposed him to an incredible variety of complex cases while reinforcing his commitment to helping patients achieve outcomes they never thought possible.
Dr. Goetz believes that well-informed patients make better decisions about their care and tend to have more successful treatment outcomes. Rather than presenting just one treatment option, he takes time to explain different approaches and their potential outcomes. This process often includes visual aids and digital planning tools that help patients understand what to expect from their treatment.
His approach to prosthodontics emphasizes collaborative planning that puts patients in control of their dental decisions. During consultations, he uses digital imaging and planning software to show patients what their treatment might look like before any work begins. This visual approach helps demystify complex procedures and allows patients to see potential results, making the decision-making process less stressful and more collaborative.
Dr. Goetz understands that many patients seeking prosthodontic care have already experienced significant dental challenges or medical treatments. He approaches each consultation with patience and empathy, recognizing that dental treatment decisions can feel overwhelming. His goal is to create an environment where patients feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their concerns.
The advanced CBCT scanning technology and digital treatment planning tools in Dr. Goetz’s practice enable him to plan procedures with exceptional precision. These technologies provide detailed information about oral structures and allow for meticulous planning of procedures like dental implant placement and complex reconstructions.
However, Dr. Goetz emphasizes that technology serves as a tool to enhance communication and planning, not replace careful clinical evaluation and experience. The digital wax-ups and treatment simulations help patients visualize potential outcomes while enabling more accurate treatment planning and often shorter treatment times.
His approach to complex reconstructions goes far beyond temporary fixes or compromises. Dr. Goetz designs treatments that address root causes and deliver lasting results, allowing patients to eat their favorite foods again, speak clearly without self-consciousness, and smile with genuine confidence.
Dr. Goetz’s additional training in maxillofacial prosthodontics means he can treat patients with particularly challenging situations, including those who have undergone cancer treatment, experienced facial trauma, or have congenital conditions affecting their oral structures. These cases often require coordination with other medical professionals and careful consideration of each patient’s overall health status.
Whether dealing with failed dental implants, ill-fitting dentures, or reconstructions that compromised function or appearance, Dr. Goetz has built his reputation on finding solutions where others saw only problems. His forward-thinking approach considers how treatments will hold up over time and what might be needed in the future, helping patients make informed decisions about their oral health investments.
Dr. Goetz’s pursuit of excellence extends beyond dentistry into all aspects of his life. From winning BMX championships at the age of six to achieving a perfect 300 game in high school bowling, he has always been drawn to challenges that require discipline and precision. Whether he’s perfecting his golf game, tackling challenging bike trails, or mastering complex dental reconstructions, Dr. Goetz brings the same methodical approach to everything he does.
This athletic background has taught him valuable lessons about persistence, attention to detail, and the importance of never settling for “good enough.” These qualities translate directly to his dental practice, where patients benefit from his disciplined approach to treatment planning and his commitment to achieving optimal results.
His competitive experiences have also reinforced his understanding that true success requires both natural talent and relentless preparation. Just as he spent countless hours perfecting his athletic skills, Dr. Goetz continues to invest in advanced training and education to stay at the forefront of prosthodontic techniques.
Although, Dr. Goetz always notes the extreme importance his family plays in his life. His wife Dr. Holly Trinh and his three young boys, Westin, Austin and Dustin. “My family is the biggest part of this complex puzzle we call life, and without them I could never finish it.”
The results Dr. Goetz achieves go far beyond technical success. His patients frequently share stories about how their treatment changed their entire approach to life. They talk about finally being able to enjoy family dinners without worry, laughing freely in social situations, and feeling confident in professional settings.
Dr. Goetz recognizes that comprehensive dental treatment represents a significant investment, which is why he’s committed to delivering results that provide value for decades to come. Our practice maintains flexible payment options because he believes financial concerns shouldn’t prevent anyone from accessing the level of care they deserve.
His philosophy of “transform your smile, transform your life” reflects the profound impact that quality dental care can have. Consider how differently you feel when you’re confident in your smile versus when you’re trying to hide damaged or missing teeth. Your smile affects how you present yourself to the world, and Dr. Goetz is committed to ensuring yours represents the best version of yourself.
Dr. Goetz’s combination of advanced training, disciplined approach, and genuine care for patient outcomes creates an environment where exceptional results are the standard. His commitment to finding the best possible solution for each patient ensures that every treatment plan is designed to deliver not just immediate improvement, but lasting transformation that enhances your quality of life.

Prosthodontist Delray Beach FAQ
Prosthodontics is a dental specialty aimed at replacing and restoring missing teeth. A maxillofacial prosthodontist is a specialist who can treat dental problems that concern missing teeth and its surrounding tissues. They can also perform treatments that involve a damaged jaw structure. Prosthodontists are trained to perform a wide range of restorative procedures. These may include implants, crowns, bridges, dentures and partial dentures, among others. Prosthodontist can perform these procedures giving your teeth back their functionality and aesthetics in the most effective way. They are also highly trained in cosmetic dentistry.
You should choose a Prosthodontist to make sure your oral care is treated by the most skilled professional. Upon graduation, prosthodontists take a three-year postgraduate training. That means they get intensive education in dental restoration, functionality and aesthetics. Prosthodontists can perform cosmetic procedures with a solid professional basis as they are recognized by the American Dental Association.
You can definitely use your dental insurance. If you have a PPO plan, you will be able to get your treatments and have your reimbursement directly sent home. Ours is a fee-for service office, meaning that you pay upfront at the time of service, and our helpful staff will do all the paperwork to help you get the most of your insurance. It is good to know that PPO plans allow you to go out-of-network and choose your own dental provider.
A prosthodontist can perform all the same dental procedures as a general dentist. The difference is that, due to their advanced training, prosthodontists can also perform more complex treatments concerning missing teeth. Prosthodontists complete the regular four years of dental training plus three years of specialization in tooth restoration. This advanced education allows them to perform general dentistry treatments in addition to more complex treatments involving implants, crowns, bridges and dentures. Prosthodontists have the training and knowledge to provide your teeth both excellent functionality and aesthetics.
If you just need general dentistry services, a prosthodontist can perform check-ups, cleanings and regular fillings. The cost of these general services may be the same as those you get from any other dentist. If your dental insurance plan allows you to go out- of- network, you can get your treatments and enjoy the benefits of your dental plan for an out- of-network provider. Now, if you need to restore or replace missing teeth, don’t forget that in dentistry you get what you pay for. Your prosthodontist will guide you on procedures that meet your needs and your budget, but remember that high quality materials mean more durability and strength. In the long run, this means less money, time (and headaches!) wasted in the future.
Yes. A prosthodontist can perform general dentistry procedures such as checkups, cleanings, fillings or fixing cavities. They can do this and more. Specialized training give prosthodontists the knowledge and expertise to perform more complex treatments when missing teeth need to be replaced. These complex treatments generally include dentures (full or partial), implants, crowns and bridges.
