We believe in combining the best of traditional western medicine with a whole-body approach to oral health.
We also believe technology helps achieve that integration. In order to provide the best level of service to our patients, we have state-of-the-art technology and equipment to ensure the highest level of dentistry.
We are constantly updating and investing in new technologies. Click on the links below to learn more on how we use technology to help you improve your oral health.
- Digital x-rays use considerable less radiation than traditional x-rays
Instant viewing of your teeth on a high resolution screen, making it easier to spot elusive problems.
- Ability to computer-enhance the images, making them larger, clearer, or higher contrast at will.
- Laser cavity detection system. Helps treat and prevent cavities.
Uses special laser that scans the tooth surface and precisely detects even the smallest cavities.
- It detects cavities that cannot be detected by the human eye or even x-rays.
It also detects cavities at the earliest stage, enabling the patient to protect and preserve the tooth substance.
- Allows looking at the interior of the mouth and taking digital pictures of the teeth.
Patient can see the procedure live in a high resolution LCD screen.
- Digital dental pictures can be augmented up to 50x its original size, becoming a great diagnostic tool for both the doctor and the patient.
- Computer software that allows to pre-view your smile before the work is actually done.
- You can try in different smile styles to determine which one fits your face best.
This device is helpful if you are not sure which smile style id right for you.
Electronic Patient Records Systems
We use a specialized dental software called “Eaglesoft”, which makes dental records more accessible and convenient. All your records, including photographs and digital x-rays, are stored electronically and are fully confidential.
T-Scan™ is a technology that helps us determine the distribution of forces in your bite. In other words, it reveals whether your bite is “aligned” or if it suffers from occlusal (bite) interferences that can affect the lifespan of your natural teeth as well as cause bite related aches such as migraines or neck pains.
More specifically, this technology tells us not just the fact that you are grinding your teeth, but also which teeth or in which area of the mouth and the degree of that force, allowing us to correct these interferences with great precision. T-Scan is also a great visual aid that helps patients to better understand their occlusion and the treatments that may be necessary to balance bite forces.
ORAL DNA Perio Path
Perio Path is a widely used test, which helps identify the pathogens that cause gum disease and aids in categorizing your case in whether high risk or low risk. With that information, we can devise preventative measures aimed at fighting the further growth of the bacteria, formulate a comprehensive periodontal treatment specifically catered to your needs and identify (and prevent) related systemic health risks and diseases such as heart disease and Type II diabetes.
DENTA CO2 Laser
Another feature of our Periodontal Wellness Program is the Denta CO2, a soft tissue laser which allows us to treat gum conditions without the need of surgery. It is also useful in cosmetic cases as well as with patients who suffer some forms of periodontal disease. This particular technology is great for patients because it means a radical reduction in patient discomfort and anxiety, faster healing times, more predictable outcomes, the ability to work in the periodontal pocket for bacterial reduction, and broader applications in when placing an implant.
Braebon Medy-Byte Sleep Recorder
Sleep Apnea is a sleep disorder characterized by pauses in breathing or periods of shallow breathing during sleep. People who suffer from this condition are often not aware they have it. As it disrupts normal sleep, those affected are often sleepy or tired during the day. Without treatment sleep apnea may increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, diabetes, heart failure, irregular heartbeat, obesity, and motor vehicle collisions.
The Medy-Byte Sleep Recorder is one of the smallest sleep recorders in the market. It packs the quality of a sleep laboratory in the palm of your hand. Sleep apnea is often diagnosed with an overnight sleep study, which can be very costly and disrupting. With our sleep recorder, you go home and sleep in your natural environment while it records your sleep patterns. Depending on the results, Dr. Rohrer will determine the course of action to treat your condition, which could be as simple as wearing a sleep guard. In some cases, patients will be referred out to a sleep specialist.
CAMBRA Tooth Decay Prevention
Great news! We finally have the technology to predictably prevent tooth decay by use of the CAMBRA approach. Caries Management By Risk Assessment (CAMBRA) is an evidence-based approach to preventing or treating dental caries at the earliest stages. Caries protective factors are biologic or therapeutic measures that can be used to prevent or arrest the pathologic challenges posed by the caries risk factors.
What does that mean? They studied 500,000 people over 10 years to learn to predict and prevent tooth decay. Our coaching about those results will turn the table on your tooth decay challenges.
