What to Do If a Sports Injury Damages a Tooth

When an injury does happen, how quickly and calmly you respond can affect the outcome. A knocked-out tooth has the best chance of being saved if it is handled by the crown only, rinsed gently without scrubbing, and either replaced in the socket or kept moist in milk while you head to our office. 

Chipped or cracked teeth may look minor at first but can expose sensitive layers underneath, so a cracked or chipped tooth should still be evaluated as soon as possible rather than waiting it out. For anything urgent, our dental emergency services are set up to get an injured athlete seen quickly.
